HOWTO: Lead A Mission
From BattlegroundWiki

Introduction
Leading a mission can be a fulfilling experience. Many players will create missions and just use them as their personal spawn points with no intention of communicating with anyone else.
There are those that intend on using their Missions to Lead, generally these are people who find directing fun and they will use the tools to help you to get the best out of the game.
To lead a mission first you have to be the mission leader. To gain mission leader status there are three ways you can go about this.
- Create a Mission
- Request Mission Leader Status from current Mission Leader
- Ask the current mission leader if they would like to transfer ML Status to you. This can be done by the current ML typing /missionleader <name>
- Inherit Mission Leader Status
- When the Mission Leader leaves a mission you have the opportunity to gain ML Status, this is done by rank, so if you are a low rank this is probably the hardest way to get ML Status
I'm a Mission Leader now what?
As ML you have the ability to decide what you want to attempt to do. Find a safe spot and review the current situation. You can also see who is on your mission by looking at the Mission Tab.
If you right click on the map you will be present with a list of information, Contact Repeport, Rally Point, Attack Point.
Rally Point (RP) and Attack Point (AP) allow you to place more information on the map, you can put in text and direct players on the battle field.
Remember though, players have free will and as such barking orders at them will not gain you friends nor will it make them do things that you want.
How do I get my message across?
You have access to /orders. The orders command allows you to type a message that all members of your mission can read.
Although the command is /orders, it is more /request than anything as they don't have to obey what you post.
Some players will try to work with you, these players are rare but if you get some on your mission they can be worth their weight in gold.
Do's & Dont's of Leading a Mission
Do's
- Be open to advice
- Watch the battle, look at where your troops are (hover over them with the mouse to see names)
- If you see a clump of your troops in an area, post an AP on a building they are near that is needed
- Use /orders to direct them to view the map, /orders AP posted on map, also check map for Contact Reports.
- Even though the Contact Report is posted on the map, explain where it is on text
- Have a plan, know what you want
Dont's
- Don't Order players around, they are their own person, ask them nicely and they may help you
- Don't forget, not all players in the game speak English, if someone ignores you they may well not speak English
- Don't rant at a player, they have every right to /report you to the GMs who play the game and they may take appropriate action against you
- Don't Post AP/RP miles from your troops, remember they take a while to get there, so think about what you want them to do in the short term. The average life span of infantry in WWiiOL is 7 minutes, so make sure they have goals that can be achieved in that short time.
