Understanding Routed Brigades
From BattlegroundWiki
In the game there are three different types of Brigade. Infantry, Airforce and Naval.
Routing Airforce & Naval Brigades
Airforce Brigades and Naval Brigades reside at their respective Airfields and Dockyards. To rout these brigades you need to capture either of these tables at the Docks or Airfield, once the table is captured the Brigade is routed and the enemy will not be able to spawn.
Infantry Brigades
If the Brigade does not have another Brigade (from the same divison) or Division HQ within a single towns link, then they can not move so they are cut off. If defeated, then the Brigade is routed.
Having friendly towns behind them, simply means that supply still trickles into that brigade, but another Brigade or Division HQ has to be within one link of the destination or within one link of the Brigade routed to fallback.
This usually results when a Division over extends, pushes too far forward and gets split up (very dangerous situation), or the enemy managed to take a town cutting the Brigade from its own Division.
