How did the game change?

Before v1.21, players were able to create missions and draw resupply from any town on the map that their side controlled. Each rear-line town could be used to draw resupply, in order to boost the numbers of front-line tanks and infantry. After the v1.21 patch, released over the 2005 Christmas holidays, this has changed. Now, in order for a mission to be posted from a town, there must be a Brigade located at that town. Brigades are placed and moved by each sides High Command.

This means that the primary means of defeating the enemy has changed from capturing each town on the map to defeating each enemy Brigade, forcing them to retreat. Brigades which are cut off from their factories no longer receive supply, allowing for encirclements and placing more emphasis on manouver warfare. Brigades which are cut off, and then defeated, are routed from the map for a period of time.

There are also large changes planned to the way Research Development & Production (RDP) affects gameplay for the coming year.

Why can't I spawn at this town?

Town spawning has gone away, no longer are we able to spawn into any town on the front or behind the lines. Each Brigade is represented on the map as a pennant.

Hovering over the town name will show you which brigade is currently in that town. You can spawn at this town for example (if there are missions available).

Here are the rules for creating a mission and subsequently spawning in.

  • The Brigade you are currently in must be located in the town.
  • You can create missions at:
    • Army Base
    • Depot
    • Forward Base

The Depot above takes into consideration, the Depots in the current town your brigade is located in as well as the depots that you own in enemy held towns that are linked to this town.

Example. If your side owned Tienen and where attacking St.Trudien, if you owned the Forward Base from Tienen to St.Trudien as well as the Tienen Depot in St.Trudien, then you would be able to create a mission from that depot in St.Trudien.

How do Division HQs work?

Spawning at a Division HQ works differently. First of all there is no Division Brigade, to create a mission at Division HQ, you have to create a mission from the Division HQ town from within a Brigade Associated with it. You will then use the supply from Division HQ instead of the Brigade.

How do I resupply?

You can now only resupply from Division HQ to a Brigade. Create a mission in the Brigade that you want to resupply from the Division HQ town to the Brigade town. Once you have moved the unit to the Brigade town you can despawn and the unit will be resupplied to that Brigade.

  • Note
    • You cannot resupply between Brigades
    • You cannot resupply from one Division to another
    • If you get a Rescue (RES) on a resupply run, the unit will return to division after 20 minutes.

Why can't I create a mission at an FB from a Naval or Airforce Brigade?

Naval/Airforce Brigades work differently to regular ground Brigades, missions can only be created from the Army Base or Depots within the Associated towns.

You can create Mobile Spawn Points to adjacent towns bypassing the FB's.
